David de Gea

Van Gaal to recall De Gea for Liverpool game, Arsenal and City chase Isco, James Wilson set for Derby loan…

DE GEA SET TO BE FIRST CHOICE AGAIN
After a spell in the Old Trafford cold before a Deadline Day move to Real Madrid collapsed, reports suggest that Louis van Gaal might finally be ready to bring David de Gea back into his warm embrace.

Writing in the Daily Mirror, David McDonnell says that Van Gaal is set to recall De Gea for the visit of Liverpool this weekend. The Dutchman left out his No. 1 goalkeeper in favour of Sergio Romero whilst the sorry business of his attempted move away was sorted out (or not).

Van Gaal will reportedly hold clear-the-air talks with De Gea when he returns from the international break. Praise the shambolic administration!

ARSENAL AND CITY CHASE ISCO

It’s hard not to feel sorry for Isco. He would probably get into any other side in the world, but a Real Madrid front six of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos leaves very little room for anyone else. The Spaniard started 26 La Liga games last season, but is a glorified gap-filler. He’s better than that.

Barcelona publication Sport claims that Arsenal will attempt to sign Isco in January, with a fee of €30million mooted. They also add that Manchester City will join this particular race, which isn’t wonderful news for Arsenal.

WILSON SET FOR DERBY LOAN?

The word on Tuesday was that 20 different clubs want to take Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan when that particular window opens. Louis van Gaal has evidently decided that Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial doth a strikeforce make.

The Daily Mail say that Louis van Gaal was prepared to loan Wilson out with a view to a permanent move on Deadline Day, which seems like a blow to the young striker. Still, United changed their mind after letting Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj leave.

Wilson has played just 17 minutes of first-team football since January, and is thought to be pretty disillusioned with Old Trafford life. A successful move to the Championship would give him some vital minutes and goals. He has only scored four times at club level.
