‘UNHAPPY’ DIER IS BAYERN AND CHELSEA TARGET
Just days after being told that ‘European superpowers’ want Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, we hear that both Chelsea and Bayern Munich are interested in Eric Dier. It’s a wonder our England side is not world-beaters.
Dier is said to be worried about his place in England’s team because he is not playing regularly for Tottenham. He would surely be better off worrying about the form which has led to him being replaced in midfield by Victor Wanyama.
To be fair, he might fare quite well in a three-man defence at Chelsea but we’re finding it hard to believe he would get near that Bayern side. Alongside The Ox, presumably.
DEPAY AND SCHNEIDERLIN TO LEAVE (OF COURSE)
Quite how this qualifies as ‘news’ from the Daily Mail is a mystery. They are now claiming what we already knew, that Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay are free to leave Manchester United in January. They also claim Everton are interested in the pair, which we also already knew.
The Mail use quotes from Jose Mourinho to illustrate their point, but they tell us nothing we did not already know either. Here they are:
“I am always open to listen to offers for every player.
“Any player who knocks on my door and is not happy and wants to move, when the offers are correct, I will never stop a player from leaving, even if it is to a rival. When Mata left Chelsea to come to United, no problem at all. I am always open.”
VAN DIJK PREFERS CITY
Manchester City and Chelsea have sounded out Virgil van Dijk over a move from Southampton, claims the Daily Record, who presumably have contacts within Van Dijk’s camp after his spell at Celtic. They say that the Dutchman has a preference for working with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. They could certainly bloody do with him.
Van Dijk’s price? A cool £40m, according to reports, after manager Claude Puel denied reports that he has a £25m buy-out clause in his contract
OSCAR OFF IN JANUARY
If you watch Oscar and think he is worth £60m then you are either a) Chinese or b) Andre Villas-Boas, p***ing yourself that your Chinese club will pay any amount of money for anybody half-decent willing to play in China.
According to the Daily Telegraph, he has told his Chelsea teammates that he is off to play for Shanghai SIPG in January, and presumably just how much he will be earning. His fee will constitute the highest ever fee received for a Chelsea player and will represent a £35m profit on an unwanted midfielder.
