Gossip: Liverpool and Spurs want Hernandez (ish)

CHICHARITO IN DEMAND (SORT OF)
‘Liverpool and Tottenham are plotting moves for Javier Hernandez,’ it says here in the Daily Mirror and we all feel like we are back in 2013 again. The report goes on to claim that neither club has a striker as a priority but that ‘Valencia’s interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Hernandez could force them to act in January’. Which seems like a pretty odd way for transfers to work.

Apparently he has a buy-out clause of £33.5m that Valencia are prepared to pay. Hands up if you think Javier Hernandez will agree to join fourth-bottom La Liga club Valencia. And now hands up if you think either Tottenham or Liverpool will pay that price. None of you? As you were…

KESSIE FOR LIVERPOOL?
Who’s Kessie? Well, he’s Franck Kessie, he’s 19, an Ivory Coast international and he plays for Atalanta as a central midfielder. He has scored five Serie A goals this season as his club has unexpectedly established itself in the top five in Italy. And according to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool have ‘prepared’ an offer of around £18.5m and a contract worth £40,000 a week. Juventus are also said to be interested in Kessie but Atalanta would prefer to keep him for the rest of the season and then sell to a foreign club.

OZIL AND SANCHEZ AGENTS ‘IN CAHOOTS’
Well this has been pretty obvious since newspapers started quoting what the pair wanted from Arsenal, but MailOnline are the first to claim that Erkut Sogut, working on behalf of Mesut Ozil, and Fernando Felicevich, agent of Alexis Sanchez, are working together to try and get their clients wages close to £300,000 a week. They pair want pay parity with Paul Pogba, who earns £290,000 a week at Manchester United.
