WHY SO SERI-OUS?
You might have heard of Jean Michael Seri. Barcelona wanted him, PSG wanted to f*** Barcelona by wanting him, and the Premier League wants him.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been most regularly linked with the Nice midfielder, and the Sun on Sunday reports that Liverpool ‘have taken the lead’ in the race.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also ‘interested’, according to Ken Lawrence, who adds that United believe the Ivorian is too ‘expensive’. Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay are also considered good enough options in the middle.
With Liverpool losing Emre Can however, Seri is seen as the ideal ‘replacement’ at £35m.
MANCHESTER IS RED/BLUE
United are losing that battle, but what about the one for Ryan Sessegnon? The Sunday Mirror tells us Manchester City are now in the running for the Fulham left winger.
City are reported to be ‘showing an interest’ in the 17-year-old, with United and Tottenham having ‘done most of the running’.
Elsewhere in the Sunday Mirror, we are told that City and United are in a battle to sign Sporting Lisbon’s ‘Rafael Leao’. United hope their existing relationship with the club over the Cristiano Ronaldo negotiations in 2003 can sway things in their favour.
AND THE REST
West Brom are bracing themselves for a mass exit of players if they drop down to the Championship, with Northern Ireland defender Jonny Evans, 30, England goalkeeper Ben Foster, 34, English defender Craig Dawson, 27, and England striker Jay Rodriguez, 28, all attracting interest from other clubs… Manchester United will offer keeper David de Gea, 27, a new deal worth £350-000-a-week to stop him joining Real Madrid… Everton are determined to sign England striker Jamie Vardy from Leicester and the 31-year-old is the club’s number one target in the summer… Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is eyeing a reunion with Barcelona and Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta, 33 at Etihad Stadium.
