Gossip: Maguire to Manchester for £50m?

MANCHESTER CLUBS WANT MAGUIRE
‘Manchester United and Manchester City are poised to lock horns over Harry Maguire’, according to the Daily Mirror. Hmm. We’re not sure that Harry Maguire is in that kind of class but we will read on…

The Mirror claim that Maguire – who joined Leicester for £17m in the summer – is now worth £50m. Now you might think that Manchester City have just broken their club record for a central defender but they will not stop them ‘locking horns’ with United to sign another.

According to the Mirror: ‘City have been monitoring Maguire all season and though £57m Aymeric Laporte arrived from Athletic Bilbao last month they also remain interested in the Leicester man.’

HERRERA WANTED BY AC MILAN
That’s the word from Italy, with Tuttosport claiming that AC Milan are scouting Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera, who has started just eight Premier League games this season after the purchase of Nemanja Matic. The price mentioned is £32m, which seems a little cheap if Maguire is said to be worth £50m.

United want central midfielders this summer, with Fabinho and Arturo Vidal among the names mentioned.

ZIDANE DENIES ISCO SALE TALK
Real Madrid man Isco has been linked with Liverpool (among others) this week but Zinedine Zidane has put paid to all those rumours, saying: “I want Isco to spend all his career here. That will not change.

“He is a very good footballer, he has shown that, and can always show that, so the report is a lie.”

AND THE REST
Man City have agreed a deal in principle to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s 24-year-old Brazil midfielder Fred for £44.5m this summer…Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has not ruled out a move back to former club Real Madrid.
