KANE A TARGET FOR MILAN
Well, well. Milan are a club now flush with money after being taken over by a Chinese consortium, and it looks like Harry Kane might be their first big-money target. Let’s just say that would be a massive shock.
The Daily Mirror say that Kane is Milan’s priority, but that Napoli are also keen on Kane after losing Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus. However, it’s Corriere dello Sport that got the story first.
The paper claim that Vincenzo Montella has been given £100m to spend over the next two transfer windows. Kane would surely take up most of that?
Actually scratch that. Spurs just aren’t going to sell him, are they?
CHELSEA EYE ENGLISH PAIR
Antonio Conte is reported to have identified Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson and Burnley centre-back Michael Keane as potential replacements for John Terry. The Daily Mail say that the pair have received glowing reports from Chelsea scouts as the club makes plans for life without their skipper.
The story claims the Blues are keeping a particularly close eye on English talent as they look to stay on the right side of Premier League rules on homegrown player regulations. Former England youth and Under-21 international Gibson, 23, came through the ranks with Boro, while Keane, also 23, joined Burnley permanently in January 2015 after failing to make the breakthrough at Manchester United.
SESSEGNON TO EVERTON
We’ve just found a story from June 2010, which claimed that Everton were trying to sign ‘Sunderland star’ Stephane Sessegnon. It’s all just a case of history repeated.
French media outlet Le Telegramme claim that Everton are in talks with Sessegnon over a move to Goodison. He’s currently a 32-year-old free agent after being released by West Brom, so Everton fans would be forgiven for not getting *that* excited.
