Gossip: United to wait on Fabinho, Cazorla suitors

ABSOLUTELY FAB…
Monaco will only sell Fabinho to Mancehster United in January for €40million, meaning Matteo Darmian may now stay at Old Trafford until the summer.

United were linked with Fabinho througout the transfer window, with Jose Mourinho eager to sign a new right-back.

Antonio Valencia has impressed in the role, but Italy international Darmian was expected to leave in January having been restricted to just one appearance all season.

Inter Milan have reportedly bid for the former Torino man, but according to Goal, any deals may now be put on hold until the summer.

Monaco will dig their heels in over Fabinho, 22, in January but are willing to lower their asking price at the end of the season.

CAZORLA TO RETURN TO SPAIN?
Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia are all monitoring Santi Cazorla’s situation at Arsenal as the Spaniard nears the end of his current contract.

Cazorla’s deal expires at the end of the season and the midfielder has yet to be offered a new contract by the Gunners, with Juventus also linked with the 31-year-old.

However, Cazorla has spoken of his desire to extend his stay in north London and Arsene Wenger is unlikely to allow a key member of his first team to leave the Emirates on a free transfer.

Oh, and the report comes from Fichajes. Nothing to see here.

PANIC AT THE ISCO
Tottenham will have to wait until the summer to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to the player’s agent.

ESPN suggest Spurs want to sign the Spain international, despite the options of Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela in attacking midfield.

A loan deal in January which would be made permanent at the end of the season has been mentioned, but Paco Alarcon has ruled out a mid-season switch.

“I can assure you we won’t consider any offers until next summer,” the agent told Calciomercato.
