NEYMAR CIRCUS IN FULL SWING
There’s some weapons-grade bullsh*t flying around this weekend regarding Neymar.
The PSG star was almost in tears when he denied whispers that he was already unhappy in Paris, but that denial has not dampened talk of Real Madrid moving for the Brazilian.
Marca claim Real have set aside 200million euros to sign Neymar either next summer or the year after. Given PSG had to pay slightly more to get him out of his Barcelona contract, then the chances of Real being successful with that appear extremely slim.
Talking of Barca, apparently they are so frightened of their former attacker moving to Real, the La Liga leaders have approached Manchester City and asked them to help. Don Balon says they have made contact with Pep Guardiola but, unsurprisingly, the former Barca boss isn’t interested.
CHELSEA’S HAZARD WARNING
Despite the whispers around Neymar, Real are also supposedly very keen on signing Eden Hazard next summer.
According to the Daily Express, talks between the Belgian and Chelsea over a new £300,000-a-week contract have stalled, which has piqued Real’s interest.
Hazard spoke this week of his fondness for Zidane, and the story claims Real have interpreted this as ‘a come and get me’ plea. Of course, if he was that desperate, his agent could have just picked up the phone but hey ho…
The Express says Real tried their best to sign Hazard this year but Florentino Perez blocked the move. He appears to have had a change of heart and is now “ready to go all out”.
WILF TO REPLACE SANCHEZ
Arsene Wenger is shopping around for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez and is said to have identified two candidates.
Sanchez is out of contract at the end of the season and there appears to be no chance of the Chilean agreeing new terms.
So, according to The Sun, Wenger has picked out Wilfried Zaha as one of the attackers who could full Sanchez’s size 10s.
Their story says Wenger could launch a £35million bid for a player who Spurs couldn’t get away from Palace last year. Given the market and Zaha’s recent form, we can only presume that’s an opening offer.
Apparently, Porto forward Yacine Brahimi is also a candidate but Wenger prefers that Zaha is proven in the Premier League.
