Gossip: Pulis ‘stink’ means Arsenal miss Evans

EVANS STUCK AT WEST BROM
The headline in the Daily Mirror is that Valencia are asking Arsenal for £50m for Shkodran Mustafi but we at Football365 are struck by John Cross’s claim that ‘West Brom’s Jonny Evans is also on their radar but Tony Pulis has kicked up a stink and does not want to sell at any price’. That he doesn’t want to sell is unsurprising, but we would be astonished if the Baggies could not be swayed for the right price. And the right price would certainly be a great deal less than Los Che want for the German Mustafi.

‘Arsenal have also enquired about Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez but again have been scared off by the price,’ writes Cross, who seems to think that Valencia can eventually be knocked down on the price of Mustafi because they want the money to buy Pedro from Chelsea. Arsene Wenger has certainly given the impression that the deal can still be completed.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND WANT HART
Joe Hart’s Manchester City career is over and, according to the Daily Telegraph, there has been some unlikely interest from Germany. They claim that Borussia Dortmund are ‘searching for a long-term replacement for Roman Weidenfeller and have contacted City about their asking price for Hart, which is expected to exceed £20 million’. That could be a tad rich for the Germans’ blood, so Everton remain the most likely option for the England stopper.

The Toffees could offer Hart either a loan or a permanent deal, though obviously the goalkeeper would have to adjust to life outside the Champions League.

EVERTON IN BRAHIMI TALKS
Both Portuguese newspaper Record and Sky Sports claim that Everton have joined the race for Porto’s Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi, who was strongly linked with Arsenal on Sunday.

However, ‘Sky sources understand convincing the player to make the move to Goodison Park is proving more problematic because his preference is a move to one of England’s Champions League clubs.’
