Gossip: Sanchez, Bertrand and Cavani to Man City

SANCHEZ OUT IN JANUARY…MAYBE
There is a ‘looks like’, a ‘would have to’ and a ‘probably’ in the opening four paragraphs of the Daily Star’s ‘exclusive’ that Alexis Sanchez will be sold in January, so we are less than convinced that any inside information is involved here…just simple logic.

Their theory is that there is no interest from Inter Milan, Manchester United or anyone else in spending money on Mesut Ozil in January so Arsenal will simply have to sell the Chilean for £20m to Manchester City or PSG.

The alternative seemingly not considered: Neither is sold.

BERTRAND TO CITY?
Fabian Delph is doing an admirable job but Manchester City do probably need a new left-back, and the obvious man for the job is England’s resident man in that position, Ryan Bertrand.

The Daily Mail says Bertrand is ‘open’ to a City move. Odd that. You would have thought he might be reluctant to leave a pretty poor Southampton team to challenge for the title, play in the Champions League and earn a lot more money.

How much would he cost? The Mail merely say the price would be ‘ludicrous’.

CAVANI TO MAN CITY
The quite wonderful suggestion from Spanish bull merchants Don Balon is that Edinson Cavani has decided he wants to join Manchester City because they will help him score loads of goals. They would…but they kind of already have players who can score loads of goals.

They conclude that neither Real Madrid nor Manchester United really need him. But City do? Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero want a word…
