MANCHESTER UNITED STILL WANT CARVALHO. ISH.
Now we’ve seen some stories that are light on details before, but this one on Manchester United still wanting William Carvalho takes the p*ss.

The Daily Express and Daily Star both run the story, but take their lead from Calciomercato.com. Here is Calciomercato’s story in full:

‘Manchester United are said to be very interested in William Carvalho (born in 1992) of Sporting Lisbon. They will try to make an attempt for him in this upcoming January transfer window.’

Still, at least we found out the year of his birth.

SANCHEZ MAKES CONTRACT DEMANDS
If we had £1 for every time we’ve heard about Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez being very close to signing new deals, we’d have upwards of £10. Wednesday brings another new claim.

According to Transfermarketweb (yes, we know, but there really isn’t much gossip about guys), Sanchez is happy to sign a new deal at Arsenal, but wants to earn £175,000 a week.

Sanchez is currently on £140,000 a week, and his deal expires in June 2018. Maths fans will be interested to learn that he’s after an increase of £35,000.

It’s fair to say that Sanchez is in a pretty good bargaining position. Arsenal need him more than he needs Arsenal.

SPURS TO TIE DOWN FOUR MORE TO NEW DEALS
The new contracts just keep on coming at Tottenham. Last week saw Christian Eriksen extend his deal, leading to Mauricio Pochettino’s prediction that other players would soon follow suit. Nailed it, fella.

Eric Dier’s new contract was announced on Tuesday morning, and by Wednesday the Daily Mail claim that four more will do the same. Those four are: Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker and Dele Alli.

The Mail believe that Rose is the next one to be announced, with the club confident of Vertonghen, Walker and Alli following that lead in the near future. Good times down the Lane.
