Gossip: Sanchez swap for Draxler, Ozil to Man United…

ARSENAL WANT TO SWAP SANCHEZ FOR DRAXLER
It would be truly excellent if Arsenal sold Alexis Sanchez in January, presumably in a cut-price deal. Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis stressed the statement that Arsenal had made by rejecting massive bids for a player with one year left on his contract, so to then turn around and sell him on the cheap four months later would be ludicrous.

Still, it could happen. Barcelona have been mentioned as an interested party, and so have Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Now it’s Paris St Germain’s turn.

The Daily Star (yeah, we know) reckon that PSG are keen on signing Sanchez in January, and would offer Julian Draxler as part of the deal. That might well be an offer worth considering, if there’s anything in it.

OZIL TO MAN UNITED OR INTER
Plenty of piping hot Arsenal chat on this Tuesday morning. According to an exclusive from Miguel Delaney in the Independent, Manchester United will make a move to sign Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil on a free once he is able to speak to other clubs from January. We’re also told that Jose Mourinho is confident that Ozil is up for the move, as well he might be.

It is worth pointing out that Ozil is only allowed to agree a deal to leave Arsenal in January with a non-domestic club. He can certainly talk to United, but nothing can be agreed.

Elsewhere, John Cross writes in the Daily Mirror that Arsenal are considering selling Ozil to Inter in January rather than lose him for free next summer. Didn’t they make a massive song and dance of not selling these players, taking the financial hit to ‘make a statement’? So instead they are going to sell them early but not actually make much money? Top work.

MAN UNITED GIVEN GOOD NEWS ON GORETZKA
Leon Goretzka is a name that has been repeatedly linked with Manchester United over the last year. The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best young players in the Bundesliga, and has somehow managed not to move to Bayern Munich yet.

United are rumoured to have repeatedly scouted the midfielder, despite having plenty of options in that area of the pitch and having not made a bit yet.

One of the roadblocks to his signing was thought to be Barcelona interest, but there is good news there. Barcelona scout Ariedo Braida says that the move is not a goer.

“He is certainly a great player, but for Barcelona it is too soon, said Braida. “I travel around the world in search of great talent, but our demands are extremely high.”

Does this mean Manchester United will sign him? No.

AND THE REST
Chelsea’s hopes of signing Giorgio Chiellini next summer appear to be over as the defender closes in on a new Juventus contract… Wilfried Zaha will not be fit for a return to action even after the international break… Chelsea fear Alvaro Morata will miss at least a month with a hamstring strain… Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in Middlesbrough’s Dael Fry.
