Gossip: Sturridge and Spurs sitting in a tree…
STURRIDGE TO TOTTENHAM?
He is reportedly ‘open’ to a move to London, and that puts Tottenham in pole position (though they really could use him at West Ham) to sign Daniel Sturridge, just a few months after being put off by his £40m price tag in the summer, according to Bleacher Report.
The catch for Tottenham is that Liverpool are surely unlikely to boost a title rival in January, while reports on Merseyside say that Jurgen Klopp is not interested in weakening his squad at all. The Liverpool Echo claims that Sturridge has not vocalised any desire to leave the club.
OSCAR OUT OF CHELSEA
He’s played only 28 minutes of Premier League football since Antonio Conte changed his formation so there’s little wonder that Oscar is considering a Chelsea exit in January. The Blues are happy to let him go for around £20m, while they are also open to offers for Cesc Fabregas, John Obi Mikel and Branislav Ivanovic.
So where? The twist – according to the Daily Telegraph – is that he could be bought by Chinese investment group Suning Commerce Group with a view to playing for either Jiangsu Suning – who signed Ramires from Chelsea – or Inter Milan, recently purchased by Suning.
ARSENAL TARGET PAREDES
Who’s Leandro Paredes? Well, he’s a 22-year-old Argentine midfielder who plays for Roma as a defensive midfielder. He has forced his way into the Roma side this season after an impressive loan spell with Empoli in 2015/16.
Reports in Italy say Arsenal have already been in touch with his representatives, though perhaps Italian journalists are not quite au fait with the Gunners’ bulging squad; they already have Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and Mo Elneny fighting for two positions in the centre of midfield.
AND THE REST
Chelsea captain John Terry is wanted by Andre Villas-Boas for a reunion in China…Liverpool are monitoring FC Rostov striker Sardar Azmoun…Chelsea could recall defender Nathan Ake from his loan spell at Bournemouth…David Moyes would not leave Sunderland for the Scotland job.
