Gossip: Sturridge and Welbeck to be Brits abroad?

INTER AND SEVILLA WANT STUDGE
‘Inter Milan want to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge on loan for the rest of the season,’ it says in the Liverpool Echo and that’s just about as clear as any transfer gossip comes. Sturridge has made only five starts this season – partly because of injury and partly because of Roberto Firmino, who is Liverpool’s engine, engine, No.9.

Liverpool are willing to offload Sturridge this January but they do want a permanent deal, with £30m the quoted price. Inter insist they do not have the money for such a deal but are happy to pay all his wages for a loan spell until the end of the season. The Daily Telegraph also name Sevilla as a possible suitor, while we all know that West Ham and Southampton have been interested. But will anybody pay £30m for a player who has only ever once played 30 Premier League games in one season – 2011/12.

WELBECK TO BESIKTAS!
Selling Cenk Tosun means that Besiktas are being linked with every striker in Europe, including Javier Hernandez and Islam Slimani in just the last few days. And now we arrive at Danny Welbeck, in danger of being pushed further down the ranks at Arsenal by the potential arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

This story comes from Fotomac – via Sport Witness, who claim that ‘Besiktas will offer to take the Arsenal player on loan, with a right of redemption’. Would Champions League football win him a recall to the England squad>

SPURS OPEN MOURA TALKS
Manchester United have long since been linked with PSG winger Lucas Moura, but they are of course a little busy planning to pay Alexis Sanchez £500,000 a week to bother themselves with the Brazilian lost in Paris. L’Equipe claim that Tottenham have opened talks with PSG with a view to doing another deal after the summer’s £23m switch for Serge Aurier.

As usual there is a catch: Tottenham only want Lucas on loan while PSG of course want him off their books; he has not played since early November.
