Pep Guardiola is widely reported to be ready to announce his summer exit from Bayern Munich in the coming days.
The Spaniard’s contract expires at the end of the season and he said on Tuesday night that “next week there will be clarity”.
Guardiola is widely expected to take over at Manchester City next summer, though both Manchester United and Chelsea may want a say in that decision.
‘City director of football Txiki Begiristain and chief executive Ferran Soriano both have a long-standing friendship with Guardiola from their time together at Barcelona and the pair have convinced City’s Abu Dhabi hierarchy that they can lure the Bayern coach to the Etihad,’ says one report in The Independent.
Bayern are cruising towards their third Bundesliga title under Guardiola, though two Champions League semi-final exits to Spanish clubs must sting.
Ancelotti is expected to take over at Bayern, completing the set of managing in football’s five major European leagues.
