Cesar Azpilicueta has declared himself “very happy” with life at Chelsea and wants to stay at the club for years to come.
The Spaniard, who has three years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, has played 37 times for Chelsea this season during a disappointing campaign.
However, interim boss Guus Hiddink is still unbeaten in the Premier League since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December, having amassed a total of 21 points in 11 games.
And Azpilicueta has been a key part of Chelsea’s recent resurgence, with Hiddink switching him back into his favoured right-back position.
“I count on staying another few years at Chelsea,’ he told French radio station RMC.
“I’m very happy there – I’m not thinking about leaving the club. I’m even thinking only of the Blues.
“Marseille made a big impact on me and gave me the chance to discover Europe. I felt very good over there. But if I have to leave it would be for a club where I could develop even more than at Chelsea.”
