Harry Kane has revealed that Jurgen Klopp said just three words as he engulfed him in a hug after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield.
The Liverpool manager gave Tottenham striker Kane a dose of the full Klopp love and the pair appeared to be in conversation for some time.
But Kane claims: “He just said three words – what a strike. If I scored another one, he might not have done that.”
The goal was Kane’s 22nd Premier League goal of the season – the most ever scored by a Tottenham player. He has certainly silenced all those – including us – who suspected he would be a one-season wonder.
“There was a lot of talk at the start of the season but I have a lot of self-belief. Whenever anyone tells you you can’t do something, or you’re not as good as you think you are, you want to prove them wrong,” said Kane.
“Of course I want to do the best I can for myself, but when people are telling me I can’t do it, it makes it even better for me when I go out there and work hard and do what I do and achieve what I achieve.”
