Has Sturridge played his last game for Liverpool?

Daniel Sturridge has suffered a recurrence of his troublesome hip injuries for Liverpool, who are open to selling the striker this summer.

Sturridge has struggled with injuries throughout the season, with a calf problem keeping him sidelined for a number of games in December, but his hip issues have proven the most damaging.

He has started just five Premier League games this season, and has not even formed a part of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI when fit, with Roberto Firmino favoured in a forward role.

This follows on from last season, where he started just eight Premier League games under Klopp in the German’s first campaign as manager.

According to The Guardian, the latest recurrence of his hip injury could keep him out for the rest of the season, with the problem resurfacing during preparations for the club’s game against Crystal Palace.

This throws up the possibility of Sturridge having played his final game at Anfield, with the club likely to allow him to leave this summer.

That means that Sturridge’s last appearance for Liverpool was in an eight-minute substitute cameo against West Brom. That’s a damn shame.
