Hazard coy over Lukaku to Chelsea speculation
Eden Hazard is keen to play with “the best in the world” at Chelsea, but wouldn’t shed any light on the rumours linking Belgium team-mate Romelu Lukaku with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku, who is currently away on international duty with Belgium at Euro 2016, admitted at the end of the Premier League season that he was looking for a move away from Everton this summer.
The striker scored 18 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League last campaign and has since been linked with a host of top European clubs, including Chelsea and PSG.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Hazard wouldn’t be drawn on the speculation surrounding Lukaku: “I don’t know, I don’t want to talk about this. But Romelu is a big striker, he’s a good guy and a good friend of mine.
“It’s always good to play with the best in the world.”
Lukaku netted twice in Belgium’s 3-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland on Saturday and Hazard was full of praise for his fellow countryman.
“For a striker it’s great confidence to score goals. Lukaku showed how good he is.
“When a striker doesn’t score, he tends to get criticism, but he can take it. He is mentally strong and I am sure he will be difference for us in each game, I hope.”
