Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson thinks his side “got done” by Sevilla during their 2-2 draw in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Reds went behind after only five minutes before Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored to put Jurgen Klopp’s team ahead heading into the interval.
However, Firmino missed a penalty shortly after only for Joaquin Correa curling a shot home to give Sevilla a share of the spoils.
And Henderson reckons Liverpool had enough chances to have won the match comfortably.
“We could have taken the three points with the chances we created in both halves but they got us on the counter attack,” Henderson told BT Sport.
“We are disappointed not to take the points but the lads reacted well to the weekend. We looked exciting and could have scored a few more goals.
“We wanted to win the ball back quickly and get the crowd behind us. The lads reacted brilliantly to going behind and there are positives from the game.
“Roberto Firmino has scored penalties for us before, players will always miss penalties. We had plenty more chances to score so we need to be more ruthless and go three or four up. That is football and we have got done.”
