Jordan Henderson has traveled to the hotbed of Liverpool casualties in the United States in an effort to cure his troublesome heel injury.
The Reds captain has been sidelined since playing with the ailment during the 1-0 victory over Bournemouth last month, with his recovery taking far longer than expected.
It was hoped that rest would remedy the injury Henderson aggravated by playing against the Cherries, but the Daily Mail claim the decision has been taken to send the 25-year-old to Daniel Sturridge’s second home in New Jersey in order to help the healing process.
No timescale has been placed on the England international’s return, but it’s yet another piece of bad news for the club and for Brendan Rodgers, who must take plenty of the blame.
Speaking after the victory over Bournemouth last month, the Northern Irishman said: “He had a problem with the bottom of his foot. He hadn’t trained for part of the week. He was taking some painkillers with it, and did ever so well to even be out on the field.”
Translation: “I decided to play him even though he had an injury that prevented him from even training properly.”
