Henry names United legend as the best player he’s faced

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry rates former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes as “the best player” he’s played against.

In terms of trophies, Scholes is the most successful English footballer in history with 25 trophies to his name, including 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League winners’ medals.

And ex-Barcelona star Henry thinks Scholes – who had a poor disciplinary record –  was the best player he has faced.

“You need to learn how to channel it [the aggression],” Henry told Sky Sports.

“But you don’t want to take it away from them. People used to say he couldn’t tackle and he knew exactly what he was doing.

“But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best player I’ve played against.”
