How will they cope? Rooney out of Feyenoord game
Wayne Rooney has been left out of Manchester United’s squad for the Europa League opener at Feyenoord, as have Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw.
The trio trained on the eve of the match but have been rested for the Group A clash, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Phil Jones stayed put through injury.
The latter was substituted at half-time of Saturday’s derby defeat to Manchester City along with Jesse Lingard, who has also not travelled to Holland.
Marcus Rashford is set for his first start of the season at De Kuip, where Jose Mourinho is expected to make widespread changes. Could we see a chance for Depay?
United’s full squad is as follows:
De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Darmian, Bailly, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Smalling, Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Mata, Memphis, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young, Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford
Mourinho has left Rooney out so he is "fresh" for the next Premier League match & he wants to give others a chance. #mufc
