Eddie Howe: Bournemouth boss

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been impressed by Norwich City as he prepares to face the familiar rivals at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Both sides won promotion from the Championship last season, when Norwich claimed a 2-1 win in their most recent meeting, while the corresponding fixture finished in a 1-1 draw.

“Obviously we’ll know about them, but they’ll also know about us,” Howe told his club’s official website. “From our perspective, it will give us a good marker of how much we have improved over the summer.

“We are two teams that were in the same league last year and fought a really good battle to get out of it, so I am sure it’ll be a tough match.”

Both the Cherries and the Canaries have one win, one draw, and two defeats from the first four rounds of Premier League action, and Howe has nothing but respect for his opposite number, Alex Neil.

“Norwich have made a decent start,” he added. “It’s always difficult when you come up into a new league to know how you will deal with it.

“But I think they’ve proved, by going to Sunderland and winning and getting a good point at Stoke, that they are going to be competitive this year.

“They’ve got a good squad of players and they are very well managed. Alex Neil has a very impressive track record and to get promotion from the Championship, having taken over when he did, was a great achievement.”
