Hull v Blackpool preview

Hull will be without striker Aaron Mclean for their opening game of the season against Blackpool.
Mclean is struggling with a calf injury but manager Nigel Pearson hopes to include fellow forward Jay Simpson in his squad.
Simpson missed the final pre-season game against Chesterfield on Saturday due to a knock but returned to training on Wednesday and is expected to make the substitutes’ bench, with summer signing Dele Adebola favourite to start alongside Matty Fryatt up front.
Defender Paul McShane (calf) and winger Cameron Stewart (knee) remain long-term absentees.
Hull’s other summer signings, goalkeepers Peter Gulacsi and Adriano Basso, defender Jack Hobbs and midfielder Paul McKenna, all featured against Chesterfield and will be hoping to make their debuts.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway could field several debutants in the clash.
While the Seasiders have lost a host of players since their relegation last season, most notably captain Charlie Adam and playmaker David Vaughan, plenty of new faces have arrived.
They include Bojan Djordjic, Matthew Hill, Kevin Phillips, Barry Ferguson, Craig Sutherland, Miguel Llera and Tom Ince.
Ferguson, a £750,000 signing from Birmingham, looks set to emerge as a key player for Holloway’s men as they bid to bounce straight back into the top flight.
Assistant boss Steve Thompson said: “He is a good leader on and off the pitch and that will be important to us.”
Meanwhile, rookie striker Louis Almond, 19, has joined Barrow on loan until January.
