I get satisfaction from all types of wins – Alonso
Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso says he gets equal pleasure no matter how Antonio Conte’s side win their matches.
The Blues are on a winning streak of eight Premier League matches which started off with six games without conceding a single goal.
The last two matches have been a little trickier for the league leaders as they have had to come from behind to defeat Tottenham and Manchester City.
And Alonso has admitted that it doesn’t matter how they win as long as they get the three points on the board.
“I think both types of win are very satisfying,” the Spaniard told Chelsea’s official website.
“Winning 5-0 makes it a bit easier, of course, but when you come from behind I think it’s also a very good feeling. It’s satisfying when you play a hard game like that. I remember how I celebrated with Gaz Cahill at the end of the Tottenham game – it was great to come back like we did that day.
“But it was also great to get the results like we did against Everton and Man U, so I get satisfaction from both.”
Chelsea face West Brom in the Premier League at midday on Sunday looking to maintain their four point lead over second-placed Arsenal.
“In the Premier League there are so many teams fighting for the title and it will be very tough,” Alonso continued. “We just have to think game-by-game and keep on giving everything we have to win those games.
“Winning game after game gives you confidence but you have to keep working. The results give you confidence to work in this way, though. We have got to use this momentum of the last eight league games and go on to have another good game against West Brom now.”
