I predicted what I would do at Man United – Ibrahimovic
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims he “predicted” the success he would have in his first season at Old Trafford.
The Swede scored twice – including the winner – as the Red Devils won the League Cup in a 3-2 victory over Southampton at Wembley on Sunday.
His brace took his tally for the season to 26 goals after joining Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer.
“This is a team effort,” Ibrahimovic told Sky Sports. “This is what I came for – to win and I am winning. The more I win the more satisfied I get.
“You appreciated it more the older you get. Wherever I have gone I have won. I think this is trophy number 32 for me.
“This is what I predicted. To many I could not do it. My friend, I keep doing it. I’m enjoying it in England.”
Ibrahimovic also commented on his decision to join United in the summer, he added: “I got a call from Jose Mourinho – I have a good relationship with him and that’s why I came. I know I made the right choice. I predicted what I would do.
“I came – that’s special.”
