In-form Latics edge past MK Dons

Full-back Alan Sheehan and striker Keigan Parker were on target in an impressive Latics performance which condemned MK Dons to a first away defeat of the season.
Sheehan, on loan from Leeds, made the breakthrough after eight minutes as he moved into space 30 yards out and smashed an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner.
Pawel Abbott had an effort ruled out for offside and Dons goalkeeper Willy Gueret was forced into a save when Alex Marrow took aim from long range.
The Dons had a handful of chances and Mathias Doumbe went closest but they were torn apart after 70 minutes as Oldham launched a flowing move and Danny Whitaker set up Parker, who curled into the far corner with the outside of his right boot.
Gueret prevented Abbott adding a third before the visitors pulled one back after Richie Partridge’s cross hit the far post and cannoned in off goalkeeper Dean Brill. The Dons staged a grandstand finish and there was a half chance for Dean Morgan, but Oldham deserved all three points.
