Manchester United will allow Adnan Januzaj to leave the club for Sunderland, but only on a loan deal.
Januzaj has been frozen out of the first-team picture at United since David Moyes’ exit as manager. His loan deal at Borussia Dortmund was cut short early.
Sunderland would like to sign on a permanent deal, with Moyes seeing his former player as the ideal man to give his new team some creativity.
However, the Daily Mail report that Sunderland’s enquiry to sign Januzaj on a permanent deal have been rejected because United are only interested in allowing him to leave on loan.
While Januzaj has underperformed at Old Trafford, there is a clear feeling that, still aged just 21, he can still meet his potential.
Given that United have only just made amends for allowing Paul Pogba to leave with an expensive re-purchase, it’s an understandable stance to take.
