Jose: City? I thought about Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool

Jose Mourinho insists he did not spare a single thought for Manchester City this weekend.

Both City and Mourinho’s Manchester United have started the Premier League season in blistering form, and sit atop the league with identical records.

The pair have won four games and drawn one, scoring 16 goals and conceding two in the process.

A three-point gap has been opened up on third-placed Chelsea as a result, and Mourinho says he is thinking more about the Blues, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham than his cross-city rivals.

“Today I didn’t think one single second in Manchester City,” the United boss said.

“I thought about Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, they lost, well, they didn’t win their match and it was a chance for us to get two points, like they got last week when we drew against Stoke so I just thought about them, not City.

“City won the game and did their job, I was thinking about the others, and when I saw their results, I thought it was an opportunity we cannot waste.”
