Jurgen Klopp has discussed Liverpool’s prospects of qualifying for the Champions League.
Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday, closing the gap to the Champions League qualification places to six points with 11 games remaining.
The Reds have been tipped for a late push for the top four, although they are still only in eighth place.
On the victory over City, Klopp said: “It was an extremely lively game. It was a demonstration of how mentality can beat tired legs.”
“I was never in doubt we could do things like this. We have to perform all the time. We have to learn to do this.
“We understand a little more about what I want from the players and what they want from me.
“We have to use this new quality in two very important tournaments.”
Discussing the club’s top-four prospects, the German said: “Our starting position isn’t a masterclass but we are still in a good enough position to achieve something.
“Six points is not the world. We have to show consistency, which has not been our hobby untilneed to improve that.
“Now it’s Crystal Palace. We lost to them at home. We need to take points back.
“This is the most important part of the season,” Klopp added.
