Juve chief rules out Oscar possibility

Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri name-checked Chelsea’s Oscar and Real Madrid’s Isco as players he admired earlier this summer when revealing his desire to sign a new playmaker, but Marotta insists there is no chance of either of those players joining the Old Lady.
“A trequartista? We are looking for a midfielder numerically, not with any specific qualities, but in the context of a very eclectic midfield which includes Pogba, (Claudio) Marchisio, (Sami) Khedira and (Roberto) Pereyra,” the 58-year-old said to Quotidiano Sportivo.
“(Paolo) Dybala could play as a trequartista. Isco and Oscar are two players who aren’t extraordinary, but they would add to Juventus. Unfortunately they aren’t ours and we will never sign them.”
One of Juve’s priorities has been to ward off interest in Pogba amid interest from the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, but Marotta accepts the midfielder will ultimately have the final say on his future.
“Pogba’s future? In modern football the decision of the player is paramount, like with Tevez.
“It’s obvious that we would like to keep him until he stops playing, but we can’t afford to do anything crazy in terms of salaries and some clubs can guarantee twice what we can.”
