Juventus boss fuels speculation over Can’s contract

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has done little to distance the club from speculation of a move for Emre Can.

Juventus are known admirers of Liverpool midfielder Can, whose contract at Anfield expires in the summer.

The German is free to talk to any foreign club about a move from this month onwards, and can sign a pre-contract to join them in the summer.

Any potential suitor could even pay a fee now to sign him five months early.

But it was reported on Friday that Juventus had struck an agreement with Can, and will sign him on a five-year deal worth £85,000 a week.

Allegri was quizzed over the speculation, and did little to dampen it.

“We’re all aware of Emre Can’s qualities,” he said.

“He is a young, talented player who forms a part of an extraordinary midfield for Germany. However, I’m not going to talk about the transfer market.”
