Kane, De Gea snubbed in 2017 UEFA Team of the Year
Two Premier League players have been named in the 2017 UEFA Team of the Year – but both Harry Kane and David de Gea missed out.
De Gea was one of Manchester United’s most important players as they claimed two trophies in 2017, including the Europa League.
Kane was also the top goalscorer for the calendar year, but missed out to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Gianluigi Buffon was the goalkeeper chosen over De Gea, having inspired Juventus to the Champions League final.
European champions Real Madrid have five players in the XI, while Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard are the sole Premier League representatives.
