Kante approves of new Chelsea role under Conte

N’Golo Kante believes that Antonio Conte’s new system at Chelsea is already paying dividends.

The Blues started the season with a more traditional 4-2-3-1 formation, but have now switched to a system with three central defenders and two wing-backs.

It helped them ease to a 3-0 victory over Leicester at the weekend, and Kante, who is now deployed in a more forward-thinking central midfield role as opposed to a defensive one, is more than happy with the results.

“The new system is working well. We have been better with and without the ball, and we have conceded fewer chances,’ Kante told the club’s official website.

“Personally I like the system too.

“My job in a defensive central midfield position is to cut off attacks against us, but it has been a bit different in the past two games as I have been able to get forward a bit myself.”
