Michael Keane chose to join Everton over Manchester United due to concerns over playing time.
Keane enjoyed a fine first full season in the Premier League for Burnley last campaign, earning admiring glances in the process.
The centre-half was even handed his first England caps, and was then the subject of a tug of war between Everton and Manchester United.
The 24-year-old confirms that United were interested, but that he chose to join Everton because he felt he would play more often.
“They [United] were in touch with my agent and showed a lot of interest,” Keane told The Times.
“They wanted me, but a few things happened and I thought Everton would be the best place for me to come.
“I thought I would get a lot of game time here, more than I possibly would at Manchester United, and that was a massive factor in my decision.”
