Roy Keane is definitely a man to hold a grudge, calling Jose Mourinho “irritating” almost two years after snubbing his handshake at Stamford Bridge.
Keane – then coaching Aston Villa alongside Paul Lambert – refused to shake hands with the Chelsea boss as there were still several minutes left on the clock with the Blues winning 3-0.
Mourinho has now taken over at Keane’s old club Manchester United and the Irishman admits he is not a personal fan of the Portuguese.
“He was always going to be a good option when United didn’t qualify for the Champions League,” Keane told ITV Sport.
“He was available, fantastic CV and it seems like a good fit, but maybe he is not for me.
“He is not my cup of tea. I found him really irritating when I coached against him, but that is just a personal thing, but working at Man United is all about winning and his CV will tell you he is a winner.”
We wonder how Keane feels about Steve Bruce; he should have been considered for the United job, according to Ian Holloway.
