Keita criticised after Leipzig training-ground bust-up

Liverpool target Naby Keita was at the centre of a training-ground bust-up on Monday.

The RB Leipzig midfielder, wanted by the Reds, was filmed clattering into teammate Diego Demme with a strong tackle in a morning training session.

Demme had initially tackled Keita, with the Guinea international reacting poorly and retaliating in kind.

According to Bild, Demme was left ‘screaming’ on the ground before hobbling off, with manager Ralph Hassenhuttl ending the session as a result.

It is believed that Keita was forced to apologise to his teammate for his actions.

Leipzig defender Willi Orban discussed the situation afterwards.

“There was a good intensity in the training session, and I am fan of that,” he said, “but Naby went a bit past the limit in that situation.”

Hassenhuttl added: “That’s a training camp. They all want to show how good they are feeling. Naby went to Diego straight away to apologise.”

Leipzig released the following video later to clarify that the pair had made up. Lovely.
