Klopp blames more bad defending for Swansea defeat

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp blamed defensive mistakes for his side’s home defeat to Swansea.

Liverpool dominated possession and territory for long periods, but were undone by two Fernando Llorente goals.

Even after Roberto Firmino had hauled Liverpool back into the match, they conceded a winner to Gylfi Sigurdsson.

“For the first half, you could hear it in the stadium,” a clearly frustrated Klopp said after the game.

“I don’t want to speak about the mistakes for the header but we should have avoided the pass and the cross.

“Our reaction was very good [to the two goals], butnearly everything was wrong in the third goal.

“The defending around all three goals today was not good enough – 100 per cent.

“It’s our mistake – nobody else but ours. We have to show a reaction now.”
