Liverpool will make no more signings in January – unless something “jumps” in manager Jurgen Klopp’s “face”.
The Reds have already signed Virgil van Dijk for £75million this winter, with Philippe Coutinho headed to Barcelona for an initial £105m.
Klopp says that their January business is likely to end there, even with Daniel Sturridge linked to Inter Milan.
“We have a long and decisive part of the season still to play,” he replied when asked specifically about Sturridge. “We need all the players so we will see how it will be.”
On the possibility of more signings this month, the German left the door only slightly ajar.
“If something jumps in my face we will think about it,” he said.
“First of all we have to use the high quality players we have.
“Lallana isn’t the replacement for Coutinho but he’s a fantastic player.”
