Klopp doubts City dropped out of Sanchez race over money

Jurgen Klopp doubts that Manchester City abandoned their interest in Alexis Sanchez “because of money”.

City were expected to push to sign Sanchez this month, but have been replaced in the running by bitter rivals Manchester United.

Sanchez is now days away from moving to Old Trafford, with the claim being that they are willing to match the figures demanded by Arsenal and Sanchez, whereas City were not.

One man even believes ‘treacherous turncoat’ Sanchez betrayed Guardiola, but Klopp doubts money was City’s issue.

“I could really create headlines here, hey? But I won’t. It’s not my cup of tea,” he replied when asked about the Chilean.

“We have had a big transfer (Virgil van Dijk). Is it fixed already with Alexis? I have nothing to say about the numbers, but I can’t imagine that Manchester City would leave the race because of money!

“Alexis Sanchez makes sense for pretty much each team in the world, because he’s a really good player – bring him in!

“We are not in for him, so that’s the only thing I am interested in!”
