Klopp: Liverpool could train ‘naked’, no-one would notice

Jurgen Klopp has joked that Liverpool could train “naked” and no-one would “realise” – because of Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been the Premier League’s standout player this season, and is vying for the PFA Player of the Year award alongside Kevin de Bruyne.

The forward has scored 40 goals in all competitions, helping fire Liverpool to the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds face Salah’s former club Roma in the final four for a place in the final, and Klopp has made light of the fact that all eyes are on the Egyptian.

“It is a really good group and, with Mo, everyone really likes the hype around him, all the boys,” said Klopp.

“When we came out for the Champions League training before Man City, I said, ‘Come on everybody, let’s go out naked because no-one will realise – they are just looking at Mo.’

“No problem. And Mo is so thankful. Now we go to Rome. I don’t think the hype will be a little bit less. But it is all okay.

“The boys created the atmosphere in the group. In a successful team, there is always a good atmosphere. Other teams can have very good players, but no group.”
