Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the rumoured deal for Neymar this summer would ‘change everything’ in football.
Rumours have persisted that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to activate the Brazilian’s €222m release clause to sign him from Barcelona.
“If Neymar is not a rumour then it’s more than the next level, it’s really not from this planet anymore,” Klopp told reporters.
“Really? 222million Euros? (£199m). I can’t believe that something like this would happen. But if it does happen then it changes everything actually.”
Liverpool could yet get caught upin the wake of the deal – if Barcelona are forced to replace Neymar and look to raid the Reds for Philippe Coutinho.
However, Klopp says that the club’s stance on Coutinho remains unchanged.
“Everything I say comes back from the owners.
“Yes, I would say (he doesn’t have a price). It’s very clear. He’s not for sale. What else can I say?
“There are so many rumours around. Only one of them is the Coutinho rumour.”
