Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool were fully deserving of their comeback win over Crystal Palace.
The Reds had to fight back from one goal down at Selhurst Park and were the beneficiaries of two defensive mistakes from the hosts. Keeper Alex McCarthy first miskicked a clearance straight to the feet of Roberto Firmino to equalise, and Christian Benteke converted a penalty he won after a foul from Damien Delaney.
Despite the unconvincing nature of the win, Klopp was pleased with the fight his players showed on Sunday.
“I’m pretty happy. It was well deserved. We played well in that second-half against a well-rested team,” the German told Sky Sports.
“First-half we started okay but forgot to shoot on the goal. But what we did in the end was brilliant.
“I feel sorry for Palace but I have just seen the replay [of the penalty decision] in the dressing room and it was a clear penalty. If there was no contact, Benteke would have been in a great position to shoot.”
