Klopp prepares himself for ‘funny’ transfer window
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is preparing himself for a “funny” January as speculation builds ahead of the transfer window.
The German backed up claims made by the Daily Mirror, who reported that the Reds would not entertain offers for West Ham target Daniel Sturridge as Klopp wants to keep his current squad intact to deal with injuries and the busy winter schedule.
“You and your colleagues create stories and then ask me about them. There is no thought of selling any player from the first-team squad,” Klopp clearly stated.
“I am prepared for all the things you’ll ask me in January. It will be funny for sure.”
When asked specifically about Sturridge, Klopp said the striker’s current fitness is more important than his future.
“I don’t think it makes sense [to sell],” added Klopp.
“Unfortunately, Daniel is not in training. That is more important than transfers.”
