Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that captain Jordan Henderson will not feature against Arsenal on Saturday.
Liverpool face the Gunners on Saturday evening, with a one-point gap separating the two sides.
The Reds will hope to record only a third win in 13 games in 2017, which would lift them back into the top four, above their opponents.
But Liverpool will have to do without Henderson, who remains sidelined with a foot injury.
“It’s too soon for Jordan, for sure,” Klopp said on Friday.
The German did have better news with regards to Dejan Lovren, however.
“Dejan had full team training yesterday,” he said. “We will have to see how he reacts. He will be involved in training again if nobody tells me any different and then we have to make a decision.
“He was out for four weeks and will have been training for three days.
Surprisingly, Daniel Sturridge will not feature at Anfield.
“Sturridge is not training,” Klopp said. “He was ill, really ill. Now he has a strain in his hip muscle.
“It happened in a rehab session. It’s very small but it keeps him out of normal training for another week. Or it means he can train, but he won’t be in team training.”
