Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Diego Costa ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea on Friday.
Costa has been involved in controversial encounters with Liverpool in the past, clashing with both Martin Skrtel and Jordan Henderson.
The Spain international has been one of the players of the season so far, scoring four goals in the opening four Premier League matches.
“He’s world class. If other supporters love you that’s not a good sign. He’s a warrior on the pitch,” Klopp said.
Liverpool have had a promising start to the season, as Klopp’s methods start to have an impact, although Chelsea remain unbeaten.
And the German suggests the Blues are favourites on Friday.
“They are so experienced, they can play if they want, an ugly game, nothing works but they always score,” he added.
“Because we are much younger, we need good moments in the game to take the next good moment. Experience if you use it right is important. They are more experienced.
“We are the challenger and we want to create problems for them.”
