Klopp’s advice for Karius: ‘Shut your ears’

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has advised Loris Karius to ignore his critics by “shutting his ears”.

The Reds keeper has come under pressure after his recent poor performance against Bournemouth that has left Jamie Carragher and other pundits questioning if he is good enough.

Klopp accepts this is part and parcel of being involved in football and reckons Karius should try and block out any negative stories.

“We live in a public world, everything is interesting and we have to deal with pressure,” Klopp said. “Shut your ears, I would say, it helps a lot.

“I’m quite good at this! Hopefully he can adapt to my skills!”

Klopp, who is preparing his side for the home game against West Ham, disagrees that Karius was the only player at fault for Bournemouth’s winner in Liverpool’s 4-3 loss last weekend.

“I only heard about harsh criticism. I analysed and 8 players could have defended the goal before Loris was involved.”
