Koeman to issue statement over Barkley future
Ronald Koeman will speak with Everton’s board on Monday before issuing an official statement over Ross Barkley’s future.
Barkley’s status at the club has cast a cloud over their end of the Premier League season, with the midfielder yet to commit to extended terms at Goodison Park.
The England international was left on the bench for the final game of the season at Arsenal, and was brought on as a first-half substitute.
But he is yet to give Koeman or the Toffees an answer over his future, with his manager admitting he “doesn’t know” what will happen.
“When I took the decision (to name him on the bench) I know I can expect this question,” the manager said.
“I will speak to the board tomorrow and we will make a statement about that.”
