Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar is ready to concentrate on his career after Arsenal failed with a £92million move for the player on deadline day.
Heading into the final day of the window it looked as though Liverpool would be the most likely club to land the France international but a £92million offer from the Gunners looked set to win the day.
Arsenal reportedly accepted a £60million bid from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez and were lining up Lemar as his replacement.
However, the Gunners eventually pulled out of the Lemar deal as reports suggested that they didn’t think they would have enough time to wrap up a transfer.
Other reports indicated that Lemar would have preferred to move to Liverpool over Arsenal anyway and that he snubbed a move to the Emirates Stadium.
“I am a Monaco player and I am very happy there,” he told Canal Plus.
“Now I am going to go and have a good season with my club, try to keep progressing and advancing in my career.”
